Job Title: Chaplain
Location: Shalom Institute of Mental Health and Research, Parali, Palakkad
Salary Range: 20,000 - 30,000 per month
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our team, providing spiritual support and counselling for individuals with mental health challenges. This role requires a candidate with strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of Christian perspectives, and the ability to communicate proficiently in English, Hindi, and Malayalam.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer spiritual and emotional support to clients, fostering a safe and comforting environment.
- Conduct counselling sessions tailored to individuals with mental health needs.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop holistic care plans.
- Facilitate faith-based activities, prayer sessions, and other spiritual support as needed.
- Provide guidance from a Christian perspective while respecting diverse beliefs and values.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or equivalent (BD/B.Th/ M.Th.). Additional qualification in chaplaincy preferred.
- 2-10 years of experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Hindi, English, and Malayalam.
- Strong counselling skills with the ability to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Willingness to take on challenges and adapt to the needs of those in a mental health care setting.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with individuals from varied backgrounds.
- Experience working in mental health, rehabilitation, or similar environments is a plus.
- A committed Christian faith with a deep understanding of spiritual care.
