Vacancy for the Position of Chaplain

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to join our team, providing spiritual support and counselling for individuals with mental health challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Offer spiritual and emotional support to clients, fostering a safe and comforting environment
• Conduct counselling sessions tailored to individuals with mental health needs
• Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop holistic care plans
• Facilitate faith-based activities, prayer sessions and other spiritual support as needed
• Provide guidance from a Christian perspective while respecting diverse beliefs and values

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Divinity, Theology or equivalent (BD / B.Th / M.Th). Additional qualification in chaplaincy preferred
• 2–10 years of experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care or a related field
• Proficiency in Hindi, English and Malayalam
• Strong counselling skills with the ability to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges
• Willingness to take on challenges and adapt to the needs of those in a mental health care setting

Preferred skills and attributes

• Empathy, patience and the ability to connect with individuals from varied backgrounds
• Experience working in mental health, rehabilitation or similar environments is a plus
• A committed Christian faith with a deep understanding of spiritual care
