Athira Sivaprasad serves as the Physical Activity & Self-Defense Instructor at Shalom Institute of Mental Health and Research (SIMHAR), where she leads structured movement sessions to promote physical well-being, self-confidence, and emotional resilience among clients. With a strong foundation in martial arts and fitness training, Athira brings energy, discipline, and motivation to her work with individuals across age groups and therapeutic needs.
A Second Dan Black Belt holder in Taekwondo, Athira is certified in multiple national-level courses, including Taekwondo Coaching, Refereeing, and Poomsae Judging. She has also completed specialized training in fitness and personal coaching, as well as self-defense.
Her teaching experience includes roles as a Physical Education Teacher at Chinmaya School, Coimbatore, and Sree Maharshi Vidyalaya, Pattambi. In addition, she has trained students at Fit & Fight Training Academy in Erattakulam, guiding many in mastering martial arts and self-discipline.
Athira’s commitment to holistic care through movement and her motivational leadership make her a valuable part of SIMHAR’s mission to integrate body-based therapies into mental health recovery.
