Blessy Thomas

Blessy Thomas is a Clinical Pharmacist at Shalom Institute of Mental Health and Research (SIMHAR), bringing a strong academic and research background in pharmaceutical sciences. She holds a Master’s degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and has experience in both academic and clinical pharmacy settings.

Before joining SIMHAR in June 2025, Blessy served as an Assistant Professor at Holy Grace Academy of Pharmacy and worked as a pharmacist with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS). Her experience spans teaching, drug research, and practical pharmaceutical care.

She has contributed significantly to scientific literature, with multiple research publications in reputed international journals. Her work includes: A study on cardiac drug interactions in clinical trials using newly developed analytical methods; Research on antiviral screening of Clerodol derivatives targeting COVID-19 protease inhibitors; A publication on antibacterial screening of Clerodendrum infortunatum leaves through experimental and molecular docking approaches; A book chapter on in silico drug discovery approaches for COVID-19 in an international conference volume.
With a passion for pharmacological research and patient-centered care, Blessy supports SIMHAR’s multidisciplinary approach to mental health by contributing to medication management, research, and clinical coordination.
